Cone crushers are used for crushing of high hardness and abrasive stone and mining ore. They provide advantages of low operating cost and long working life on operation of abrasive ore.

CSP Engineering use cone crushers of global brands in their crushing and screening projects and R&D studies continue to manufacture local brand of cone crusher.

In addition, CSP Engineering provides service and spare parts of world’s leading brand of cone crushers.

What Are Cone Crushers and How Do They Work?

In a cone crusher, the mantle gyrates eccentrically inside the fixed bowl liner (concave) and crushes the material by compression between them. The closed side setting (CSS) is adjusted by hydraulically raising or lowering the bowl or main shaft.

Because it crushes by compression, the cone crusher runs at low wear cost in hard, abrasive rock and is the key machine for cubical chippings in secondary and tertiary crushing.

Applications

  • Secondary and tertiary crushing of basalt, granite and other hard rock
  • Cubical chippings and asphalt aggregate production
  • Mining and mineral processing plants
  • Second stage in mobile crushing plants

Selection Checklist

  • Chamber profile (coarse, medium, fine) chosen for feed and product size
  • Crusher kept choke-fed; irregular feeding wears liners in one zone
  • Lubrication unit and oil cooling capacity sufficient
  • Liner backing compound applied correctly

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between cone and jaw crushers?

A jaw crusher reduces large material in the primary stage; a cone crusher takes a smaller feed and gives a finer, more cubical product in secondary and tertiary stages.

When are the mantle and concave replaced?

When liner thickness reaches the manufacturer’s minimum or the CSS can no longer be held; the backing compound is renewed at every change.
