Aurox Locking Compound (Agent)
The AUROX locking compound is a specialized, three-component epoxy system designed for secure bushing fixation in heavy-duty applications, especially as a safer alternative to traditional molten metal methods. Engineered to provide high thermal conductivity, this compound optimizes heat dissipation and transfer during operation, making it especially effective for high-temperature conditions.
Primarily used in cone crushers, AUROX locking compound is formulated to secure eccentric bushings, preventing any unwanted movement or rotation within the main frame or eccentric housing. This ensures mechanical stability, which is crucial for the durability and efficient functioning of cone crushers under heavy loads and continuous use.

What Does an Eccentric Liquid Wedge Do?
In a cone crusher, the eccentric is the part that produces the gyrating motion of the main shaft, and it turns in or on a bronze eccentric bushing. If the bushing is not secured firmly and in full contact in its bore, it spins or slides; oil grooves move out of alignment, temperature rises and expensive parts such as the eccentric, main frame or main shaft can be damaged. Aurox eccentric liquid wedge fills the gap between the bushing and its bore completely, supporting the bushing at every point and fixing it in place.
Also known as a “locking compound”, this product is different from threadlockers: it is not for threaded joints but for pourable fixing of the bushing–bore joint. Aurox is CSP Mühendislik’s own brand.
Key Properties
| Property | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Three-component epoxy system | Mixed and poured on site; no furnace or molten metal needed |
| High thermal conductivity | Helps dissipate and transfer the heat generated in the bushing during operation |
| Full-contact support | Prevents the bushing spinning or sliding and distributes load evenly |
| Safer application | Eliminates the burn, fume and splash risks of molten zinc pouring |
| Mechanical stability | Supports crusher durability under heavy loads and continuous operation |

Application Summary
- The outside of the bushing and the inside of the bore are cleaned completely of old filler, oil and rust; surfaces must be dry.
- A release agent is applied if required by the crusher manufacturer’s instructions.
- The bushing is positioned concentrically with shims or centring fixtures; oil holes are aligned and plugged.
- The bottom of the gap is sealed with dam material.
- All three components are mixed in the packaged order and ratio until uniform.
- The mix is poured from a single point, slowly and without interruption.
- The assembly is not loaded until the cure time in the data sheet has elapsed; centring and oil passages are checked again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can liquid wedge replace zinc pouring?
Yes, in applications permitted by the crusher manufacturer. An epoxy liquid wedge eliminates the risks of molten metal; the crusher manual and product data sheet should both be followed.
Can the bushing be removed at a bushing change?
When applied correctly and when the removal method specified by the crusher manufacturer (heating, use of release agent, etc.) is followed, the bushing can be replaced.
Do you also manufacture bushings?
Yes. Eccentric bushings and other bronze bushings can be supplied to drawing or sample; see our shaft bushing guide and cone crusher spare parts page for details.
