What Is a Screen and Which Type Should You Choose?
Screens separate crushed material into fractions by particle size. Vibration moves the material over the screen deck; small particles pass through the openings, while oversize moves to the next deck or back to the crusher.
CSP Mühendislik manufactures standard (inclined) screens and horizontal screens, and supplies wire, polyurethane and rubber screen media as well as non-clogging screen wire.
Applications
- Inclined screens: High-capacity general screening, quarries
- Horizontal screens: Accurate separation, wet screening, mobile and low-height plants
- Dewatering screens: Removing water from sand and fines
Selection Checklist
- Capacity and number of decks
- Fractions to be separated and openings
- Moisture and clay content (clogging risk)
- Screen media type and wear life
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose an inclined or a horizontal screen?
Inclined screens give higher capacity on the same area; horizontal screens separate more accurately and suit plants with limited height.
What affects screen capacity?
Screen area, opening, open area, moisture and grading of the material, vibration settings and feed arrangement.
