Aurox Backing Compound

AUROX backing compound is a two-component epoxy-based solution designed to provide high compressive strength and impact resistance for backing wear parts in large gyratory crushers, cone crushers, and grinding mills. It is built to withstand the extreme demands of heavy-duty crushing operations.
With its exceptional viscosity, AUROX ensures easy mixing and precise application. Its high impact strength absorbs energy effectively, reducing vibration and protecting equipment components.
Engineered to perform even in cold regions, AUROX maintains its strength and reliability in low-temperature environments, making it a practical choice for a wide range of operating conditions. Whether for extreme crushing forces or challenging climates, AUROX backing compound delivers consistent, reliable performance.

What Does Aurox Backing Compound Do?

In cone and gyratory crushers, casting tolerances leave irregular gaps between manganese liners such as the mantle and concave (bowl liner) and their supporting surfaces. If these gaps are not filled, the liner contacts only at certain points; in unsupported areas it flexes, cracks, loosens and hammers the seating surfaces of the head and bowl. Aurox crusher liner backing compound is poured into these gaps and cures into a solid bed that supports the liner at every point. Impact and vibration are spread over a wide area and the liner can be used safely up to its designed wear limit.

Aurox is CSP Mühendislik’s own brand. Product supply, stock planning and application support are handled directly by our team.

Applications

Because the wear parts of jaw, impact and vertical shaft (VSI) crushers are secured with bolts and wedges, backing compound is not used in these crushers. For cone crushers designed with backing-free liners, the crusher manufacturer’s instructions should also be followed.

Application Summary

  1. Determine the quantity for the crusher model and add a safety margin (quantity calculation guide).
  2. Clean the head, bowl and liner surfaces completely of old backing, oil and dust.
  3. Seat and secure the liner fully according to the manufacturer’s instructions; seal lower edges and holes with dam material.
  4. Bring the material and parts to the application temperature in the data sheet (cold-weather application).
  5. Mix the whole kit in the packaged ratio until a uniform colour is obtained.
  6. Pour the mix from a single point without interruption, letting the gap fill from the bottom up.
  7. Do not load the crusher until the cure time in the data sheet has elapsed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much Aurox does my crusher need?

It depends on the crusher model, liner profile and the gap volume between liner and body. Send us your crusher model and serial number and we will calculate the number of kits together.

How do I choose between Aurox and Nordbak?

The crusher manufacturer’s recommendation, crusher size, site conditions, lead time and total cost are considered together. Because CSP Mühendislik supplies both brands, we can choose the right product together.

Do you provide on-site application support?

Yes. Our service, maintenance and repair team can provide on-site support for mantle and concave changes and backing application.
